Top 10 Ways to Maintain Focus for Results
Consider that obstacles and struggles are part of the price you pay to achieve personal greatness. Take each set back or challenge as part of what you need to learn for your personal mission in order to make an extraordinary contribute to this world.
1)Prioritize- Identify areas that are most important – Spend time on urgent activities that will bring in the highest pay off for your time. Remember the 80/20 rule. 20% of your effort will bring 80 % of your results.
2)Commit to Completing Task- stick to it until it is 100% complete. Challenge your self to finish. Each time we put something down and pick it back up again we need to get re-acquainted with the project. Complete each task in full -when necessary break it down into milestones.
3)Utilize your Strength and Delegate – Spend time on parts of the project or goal that you do best and then delegate the rest! If you bill out at $250.00 per hr it would be silly to spend time vacuuming, or mowing your lawn (unless your enjoy it!) Hire whom ever you need to in order to free up time to manage your most important, high return tasks projects.
4)Eliminate Distractions- You know what they are for you! And if you’re not sure take time to identify and then eliminate then. Unplug your phone, turn off the TV (unless it’s City TV), stay off the internet, do not accept impromptu visitors.
5)Specific Measurable Results- Create a system to quantify your results. This may be a $25,000.00 sale target to reach in one month, perhaps your interested in losing 10 pounds, maybe your goal is to have your house completely organized by August 1st.
6)Make Lists- Think on paper. The best time to do this is at the end of the day. Lists can save approximately 25% off your time in a given day. Gets the unconscious thinking and working on – Without a list there will be a natural propensity to become distracted.
7)Be 100% Responsible – for obstacles, delays, results, miscommunications, and most importantly generating resources for discipline and persistence.
8)See Your Results- We are motivated by feelings. Imagining or day dreaming - increases focus by providing visual cues for your mind engaging the unconscious. Like a machine the unconscious mind will invariable work to achieve the specific out comes of your dominate thought.
9)Ask Yourself Powerful Questions- 'How do I make $25,000.00 in one month'; 'How would someone like Ghandi manage this situation', 'What will get me inspired'.
10)Reward your Success! – Set up rewards as you complete milestone. This could include daily mini-rewards and acknowledgments.
